Fabric Care Guide

At RUYA, we value quality and durability. Our scarves are designed to be comfortable, stylish, and long lasting. To maintain the fabric, fit, and overall appearance as beautifully as possible, we recommend hand washing all scarves only.

Over time, all fabrics may naturally stretch approximately 1 cm. This is a normal characteristic of soft and stretchy materials and allows the scarf to adapt even more beautifully to the shape of the head.

We have three different hijab fabrics in our collection:

  • Premium Jersey: Straya, Seamless & Ease collection
  • Bamboo Jersey
  • Liquid Jersey

Premium Jersey

Material: 95% Cotton Jersey & 5% Elastane
Premium Jersey is a comfortable and versatile fabric with a luxurious look and feel. Thanks to the combination of cotton and elastane, the fabric feels soft on the skin while remaining durable and shape retaining.

Washing Instructions

  • Hand wash only recommended
  • Use cold or lukewarm water
  • Use a mild detergent
  • Do not wring or overstretch
  • Do not soak for long periods
  • Avoid rough surfaces or sharp accessories

Drying

  • Lay flat to dry on a clean towel
  • Do not tumble dry
  • Avoid direct sunlight to prevent discoloration

Extra Care
Premium Jersey is designed for everyday wear. Due to the natural stretch of the fabric, the scarf may gradually stretch approximately 1 cm over time and adapt even better to the shape of the head. To maintain the quality and fit, gentle handling and hand washing are strongly recommended.



Bamboo Jersey

Material: 95% Bamboo Viscose & 5% Elastane
Bamboo Jersey is a sustainable, breathable, and ultra soft fabric with a naturally luxurious appearance. The fabric feels silky soft on the skin and drapes beautifully around the face.

Important
Bamboo Jersey is a very delicate and sensitive fabric that requires extra care during washing. Friction can cause the fabric to pill more quickly. For this reason, it is important not to rub the fabric against itself while washing.

Washing Instructions

  • Hand wash only
  • Use cold water
  • Use a mild and gentle detergent
  • Do not rub, scrub, or handle roughly
  • Wash the fabric gently without pressure
  • Let the scarf move softly through the water
  • Do not wring or twist

Drying

  • Gently pat dry with a towel
  • Lay flat to dry
  • Do not hang while the fabric is soaking wet
  • Do not tumble dry
  • Avoid direct sunlight

Extra Care
Bamboo Jersey may gradually stretch approximately 1 cm over time, allowing the scarf to adapt more naturally to the shape of the head. Due to the delicate fibers, we recommend avoiding contact with jewelry, rough fabrics, or Velcro to help prevent damage or pilling.


Liquid Jersey

Material: 95% Polyester & 5% Elastane
Liquid Jersey is known for its elegant appearance and fluid drape. The fabric molds smoothly around the face and has a subtle sheen that adds a luxurious touch to every look.

Washing Instructions

  • Hand wash only recommended
  • Use cold or lukewarm water
  • Use a mild detergent
  • Do not wring or overstretch
  • Avoid friction with rough materials

Drying

  • Lay flat or hang to dry
  • Do not tumble dry
  • Avoid prolonged exposure to direct sunlight

Liquid Jersey naturally drapes beautifully around the face. Due to the stretch in the fabric, the scarf may gradually stretch approximately 1 cm over time and adapt more comfortably to the shape of the head. To preserve the luxurious shine and overall quality, hand washing is always recommended.
